Engine Configurations Vary

The engine configuration of every vehicle model is different. Some engines have relatively few locations that are well suited for rodent occupation, and other engines have multiple areas that are well suited for rodent occupation. Generally, any level or nearly level area of the engine can be occupied by a rodent. Metal surfaces that retain heat (if the vehicle has been recently driven) are particularly desirable at night when temperatures drop.

Auto Tack Mat provides an inhospitable surface that is intended to deter rodent occupation of the vehicle’s engine – and thereby reduce the risks of chewing damage and contamination associated with rodent occupation. However, Auto Tack Mat will not prevent rodents from entering your vehicle’s engine, as the engine compartment is still open underneath and easily accessible.
