After Installing the Auto Tack Mat

If your vehicle is parked in the same location regularly, and rodents habitually occupy your vehicle’s engine, you may see continued (though reduced) evidence of rodent occupation after installing Auto Tack Mat. Rodents may try to walk across the Auto Tack Mat, until they encounter a sharp tack or two and discover the hostility of the surface. And, you may find evidence of new occupation (droppings, etc.) in different areas of the engine that are not covered with the Auto Tack Mat.

Installing additional sections of Auto Tack Mat (keep those leftover pieces of mat handy!) in the newly occupied areas of the engine will help. The goal is to make the engine sufficiently inhospitable so that the rodent is motivated to seek shelter elsewhere. Rodents are quick learners, and our experience is that they learn and remember when a vehicle is inhospitable to their occupation.
